Overdose Prevention & Community Health

APO’s Overdose Prevention & Community Health services are aimed at meeting people where they are. APO offers resources and tools to support individuals at any point in their relationship to substance use.

What does Overdose Prevention & Community Health Look Like?

It includes many things, for example:

  • Using NARCAN® or intramuscular naloxone to reverse an overdose from opioids
  • Not using drugs alone
  • Not sharing equipment if using drugs (injecting, snorting, or smoking)
  • Using condoms to reduce chances of acquiring STIs/STDs
  • Using PrEP to reduce chances of contracting HIV

 

Where can I get Supplies?

You can pick up NARCAN® nasal spray, intramuscular naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and other supplies at both APO locations.

Organizations: Call APO to set up a NARCAN®/naloxone training or to request supplies.
