What Does APO Cover?
APO’s dedicated team of Prevention Specialists and nurses offer convenient, non-judgmental, and affirming sexual health services in a laid-back and relaxed environment.
Testing
APO offers free testing for HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, and Hepatitis C. Testing is offered on a first come, first served basis so we encourage you to arrive early during testing blocks or call ahead to check availability. See locations below for testing hours.
Treatment
APO provides free or low cost treatment by appointment for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Syphilis for those who have received positive results or have documentation of the positive results of a partner. We can also help connect you to linkage to care and/or treatment services for HIV and Hepatitis C. Please call us at 417-881-1900 to discuss your treatment needs and schedule an appointment.
Harm Reduction
APO provides free access to naloxone for opioid overdose reversal. We offer harm reduction counseling to help people who use drugs to reduce the risk of HIV, viral hepatitis, overdose, and other health complications.
PrEP Navigation and Education
APO offers PrEP Navigation and Education services to help people learn about or get access to PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), a medicine that can be taken to prevent getting HIV from sex or injection drug use. When taken as prescribed, PrEP is highly effective at preventing HIV. Most insurance plans and other types of health coverage (ex: Medicaid, Medicare) cover PrEP.
APO's PrEP Navigators can help you figure out if PrEP is covered through your insurance and help you apply for assistance programs if you are uninsured or underinsured.
Condom Distribution
APO has a large selection of condoms, lube, and other safer sex supplies. All of our safer sex supplies are offered free of charge and our knowledgeable staff can help you figure out which products are right for you. Mobile Unit
APO offers outreach testing through our mobile medical unit.
